How can we share the presence and experience of a place at the level of hearing? Can a sound image convey the specific contexts inherent to that place? How does acoustic perception influence the formation of individual memory and the history of a place?
A travelogue formatted through sounds. By immersing ourselves in soundscapes, field recordings and archives recorded and compiled by creators, we approach places both familiar and distant. The evening will feature a listening experience accompanied by commentary from curator and writer Jakub Juhás and a sound performance by multidisciplinary artist and composer Lucie Páchová.
The evening is part of an ongoing series of performances, concerts, lectures, listening sessions and other events that are connected by a shared interest in sound art. The dramaturge of the series is interdisciplinary artist Maria Komarova.
