The one-day participatory event House of Culture and Hope will offer the opportunity to shape the future together in the form of a battlefield and communication simulator. First, we will work in groups led by facilitators to formulate problems and proposals for change in areas such as work, a place to live, education, food or finances. The joint discussion will then lead to a confrontation in a simulated symbolic court working with theatrical means, where points of view and possibilities will be transformed into a potential manifesto for the good life. The ideal form of participation is full active involvement. At the end of the day, we invite everyone to take a walk through Brno, where we will read in urban space and reflect on the extent to which our immediate surroundings can create the conditions for living well. The day will end with a dinner together.
The event is a joint project of HaDivadlo and the Terén platform, following the interdisciplinary programme of the event House of Culture and Fatigue (2021).
The curators of this year's event, entitled Day of Culture and Hope, are audiovisual artist and activist Katarína Gatialová and Adam Čajka, lecturer in the method of non-violent communication and member of the non-growth section of the NaZemi organisation.
