The celebration, which will include a birthday cake 🎂, will take place in the industrial premises of OC Dornych and also traditionally on the airwaves of Czech Radio Vltava. The live broadcasts from the venue will be conducted by a pair of presenters – Petra Kultová, cultural journalist, translator & Šárka Svobodová, architectural historian (4AM, BAM Brno) and curator.
Art's Birthday is a conceptual feast by French artist and member of the Fluxus movement Robert Filliou. In 1963, he claimed that art was created one million years ago, by a prehistoric artist throwing a dry sponge into a bucket of water.
The celebration will start at 7pm with an introduction of Matěj Frank's sound instrument and Šarka Svobodová's video installation on the current architectural appearance of the OC Dornych shopping centre. The opening part will be followed by a concert block, parts of which will also be heard on the Czech Radio Vltava frequencies. A bar LosPřekápkos will be open throughout the party.
