Krautsalat is both a zone and a process. It blends everyday with extradaily and surreal, gathering ingredients that might not otherwise come together. Like a cranberry in cabbage juice or whipped cream atop Filderkraut. They say Krautmarkt is the only place in the Czech Republic where agricultural products are available for sale six days a week, all year round. We know that the only day these products perform is at Krautsalat.
The event is part of an ongoing series of performances, concerts, lectures, listening sessions and other events that are connected by a shared interest in sound art. The dramaturge of the series is interdisciplinary artist Maria Komarova.
Maria Komarova is an interdisciplinary artist whose work is situated between performance art, scenography, sound and installation. By staging and technically transforming ordinary objects, Komarova highlights the sonic and visual potential of the non-human world. She works with sound as a performative medium and continuously develops DIY electroacoustic objects that she allows to temporarily inhabit sites of performance and installation.
