Erik Sikora studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Faculty of Arts in Košice. He works with video, performative lectures, installations, and music under his alter ego Džumelec, or currently as a member of the group Džemiaky.
Since 2012, he has released a number of albums, both solo ( odkalisko staré psisko 2012, Brutovce 2014, Jeleň Zeleň 2015, Dakus 2018, Chvostoskoky 2024, ALGO RYTMO SAURUS 2025) and in collaboration (Dakus electronic 2021, V čikčiku 2025). Džumelec’s musical world is a distinctive, sensitive, and humorous pataphysics that, through a documentary approach, names the world around him. As children are part of his world, he also creates DIY hits for and with them, full of clever wordplay and infectious joy.
